I told him the crashworthiness of the 944 was a big reason why i bought a 944.
here is his reply
"Actually, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, realizing that I am not an expert on crash worthiness, but with my limited knowledge, the driver of the 944 was a very lucky person. Looking at the Ram, you notice that all of the energy is absorbed by the front end and not transmitted to the passenger compartment. That is good. Yes, I do realize that there is a weight difference between the 2 vehicles. But, I did not like seeing the “A” pillar deformed and crushed. We put a lot of high and ultra high strength steel into these areas along with engineering what happens to the entire front end structure during a crash. Although we take all of this for granted, a great number of both computer simulations along with real live barrier testing is performed so that our cars do not look like the 944 in the picture. The barrier building is located at the Milford Proving Ground where I work, and at times I can hear them getting ready for a test, since the building is quite near the gas pumps. "

At any rate, great purchase - looking forward to the pictures.

The WS6 is pontiac, and the F41 is chevys version of the M030.
The motor is the corvette LT1 with 275hp at 5000, and 325lb-ft at 2400 rpm stock according to the january 93 road & track.
thats before the chip, the air induction and spark enhancer. Im pretty confident the hp passed 300. may take it to the next dyno day Adrial.
My buddy who is a child of the sixties and thinks this car is the "it" chirped the tires going into third gear at about 40 mph.

If only I could get used to the body style...
But sounds like you like it
My 924 vs. S-10 fared remarkably well - an S-10 is nowhere near the same as the Ram pictured but it must have been going pretty fast to cause that much damage...

Very nice.
Exhaust looks great.
Is that strut brace stock?
I would change the plugs asap, because if you wait for the service interval, you may never get those back ones out.
You need some good rubber floormats to protect that nice carpet from the snow. I would recommend those deep cannon mats (have them in 2 cars).

That is a SHINEY car Tom! Looks great. Enjoy it! I would keep those wheels on there--the stock wheels will look boring in comparison, and I'm getting use to the chrome look--they kinda go with the car! I just hope it doesn't attract younger theives sitting at the train station!

Tom, congrats. My buddy has a '94 Z28 he rebuilt the engine with goodies to 403rwhp. I have seen the dyno chart. The car is amazing. I'm sure yours is too. Looks great!

Tom R, tell your brother that any passenger vehicle's a-pillar would've looked like that let alone a sports car. I firmly believe that any American vehicle would've had the A-pillar completely ripped off. It's not even a matter of the difference in weight of the vehicles, it's more about relative bumper locations. I have found myself driving my mother's VW Jetta only to glance out the window and notice the big fat bumper of an SUV/pickup sitting at window level clear of any side protection door beams. Even a side airbag wouldn't save me. I would have serious upper body trauma just from the truck protruding into the driver's area. Now compare vehicle height between a Jetta and a 944... there is no contest.
Nice Camaro, though... I live about a 10 minute drive from SLP Engineering's Canadian Camaro/Firebird shop. Everyday I would admire the racks of fibreglass hoods and the odd WS6 package F-bird ready to be delivered to some dealership. Unfortunately they closed up shop this summer...
