My car has option 456 Sport shock absorbers and stabilizers; can some one enlighten me on what exactly the difference from stock and this are?

Better shocks/struts all around, and thicker sway bars. Also, regular cars might not have come with a rear sway bar, and yours did.

What Improvements do the rear sway bar and the better shocks and struts make; sorry if it’s a dumb question I am not really knowledgeable about suspensions.

Not sure what brand, but I think that option should have come with Koni's up front. They're just better, stiffer shocks than standard. The rear sway bar will help improve body roll and load transfer, so the car is more stable. Also, if you took off the rear sway, the car would understeer (or is it oversteer?) more.

Overall, it just makes the car handle better. Of course, that was 20 years ago, and if you're still riding around on the original struts then they aren't what they used to be.

Hey my '84 has that option too. Does that make it rare and more valuable?

You know what I always found weird about my car was it had the sport package manual steering yet it was an auto some people pick there packages very weird it was only converted to power steering in 2000 by the last owner. It will not add value to the car because most likely the shocks have been changed out or worn after 20 years but at one time it was a desired option for its extra stiffness if you selling the car it might be a nice point to sweeten the deal because it sounds nice. Stabilizers help slightly with roll compared to an early car with out.
