Question Key Ignition Cover (round plastic thingy)

Hello, on my 1986 944NA, recently the cover to the ignition keyhole came off. I am talking about the round rubber thingy with a metal clamp around the outside, which fits around where the key goes into the ignition to fill the gap from the dash.

I can't figure out how to get this back on, because the ignition part is not center of the hole which the rubber part covers.

I wish I had batteries for my digital camera, maybe I will get pcitures, and post to show you what I mean. But, anyhow I can't get it back on.. Oh well, hehe

It should be in the center of the hole. If its not, your ignition cylinder moved. With the key out (steering locked), turn the steering wheel to the direction of centering the lock to the center of the hole. Then you can push the rubber part in without any problems.

I have a few floating around and if you are local, I give it to you. Since its a cheap part, you probably want to get it from a dealer....

Lego, I lost mine a couple weeks ago. Going to the dealership, nearest one is Rusnak in Pasadena, is too much of a hassale for a 2 inch piece of plastic. I'll gladely take one of those covers.
