Desperate for help in CT, no start
Hey guys, I need some help, I have a 1986 951 recently rebuild my engine, had it running on Max951 chips just to make sure everything mechanical was good, went and did a 28 point DME mod and installed rouges A-tune, long story short it would not start after that, talked to Josh at rouge and found out that The a-tune kit I got was used and missing the daughter board, had rouge send me one, installed it, now it will start for like 1 sec and die, tested my wiring, I'm getting the 5volts on the read wire, I'm getting 1.6volts on the green and the black wire has a good continuity test to ground, also check my solding job in the DME and everything seems fine, I went an replaced the map sensor with a GM 3 bar, as soon as I plugged it in it started and ran, then it start running very ruff at idle and died, and I haven't been able to get it to start again. I checked continuity and volts at the map sensor, all check good, I even tested to see if voltage changed with different vac and it does. I've jumped my DME relay to test that and no change, I've checked my distributer to make sure it's ok and it is Can anyone help me, should I resolder everything, is anyone in CT that knows a good bit about this?

I am assuming that you don't have a spare 24 or 28pin 951 dme to get the car up and running.
Sounds like your chip install (soldering, chip) "might" be to blame, hopefully someone has a spare dme close-by to plug in your old russell berry chips to get you running again or a 88+ DME and test the A-tune chip, which will take your DME out of the equation to see what is truly going on.

I think I got it, switched to the original a-tune chips that came with the used kit I got and it starts and runs, I think the mess up is on my end, when I had Josh burn another chip for me I told him I have 55lb injectors installed, and I thought I did, ran the injector part number online and they are 50lb injectors, so that's probably an issue, Im gonna mess with it tonight and triple make sure nothing else is wrong

10% injector size difference won't cause a problem like this, and your apparent size difference might only be caused by the delivery pressure anyway.
