If you decide to get new pins, You have some choices. If you can get them, save yourself some time and effort by getting the pins with the screwdriver slot in them. I didn't, but mine adjust OK. I think that mine are stainless..the ones I took out of the car were badly rusted..I just wish I could get my hatch to pop up. I've been back there about 5-6 times and the durn thing still is stuck. The only way I can open the hatch is to go back there, and unbolt the latch on the left side. I've slotted the holes in the latch trying to alleviate the problem, with adjustment, and when I look down into the latch with the rod pulled back, it looks like a clean and clear hole..Time for the Prussian blue, I guess. The latches, are new I think, and work very nicely. The left hand rod was adjusted to give the maximum amount of "throw" to the latch...BTW, fishing that rod in and out of the car is not that easy..put a string on it if you want to make it easy on reinstallation so you can "fish" it back through the channel..
