Default 944 Parts Wanted

The Carolina Youth Development Center has just begun building a 944 race car for the 24 Hours of LeMons car to compete in an upcoming event at CMP in September. This effort is in the need of some parts to complete the project.

Founded in 1790, Carolina Youth Development Center is an important part of Charleston’s historic and cultural heritage, a direct descendant of the Charleston Orphan House, America’s first publicly-funded orphanage. Today, CYDC provides programs reaching over 1,200 children and youth locally each year. We care for young people who are victims of physical and sexual abuse, neglect and abandonment, as well as providing resources and support to area families at risk of having their children removed from their home. http://cydc.org/

The car is 1985 Porsche 944. The car is being fitted with a 1989 2.7L motor. This car was a donation as a non running street car. The kids have completely stripped the interior. The Center has a garage with a lift for working on the car. The motor is in the process of being removed and the replacement motor refreshed.

Parts needed include:

Fuel lines
Fuel pump
turbo oil cooler housing
ac delete bracket
front control arms and bushings ( early)

If you donate your parts, CDYC will issue you a 501C Non Profit Tax Exempt receipt for the retail value of parts donated. CDYC will also pay for the shipment of parts in full if not local. Please email cup944@aol.com if you would like to contribute, parts, funds, or your time.

Thank you for your contribution to this great cause.

You don't need an AC delete bracket, you can run a shorter belt with no tensioner. I forget the belt PN but you get it started, and bump the starter to slip the belt on. I've ran one for about a year without a problem.
