I am replacing the pistons in my '81 924 Turbo, the supplier has asked me if I want Series 1 pistons or Series 2 pistons, could someone please explain to me what this means? Thanks!

Piston bore sizes pt# 047 107 065 E
001 001 68,48 mm
002 001 68,49 mm
003 001 68,50 mm
Piston oversized 047 107 081 E
87,00 mm
Basically these are all pistons that work in your car depending on cylinder bore.
You need to determine the condition of your cylinder wall and bore thickness before making this decision and to do this you may need some assistance. I would not just replace with original size as this may have changed and could cause serious troubles if you use the wrong bore size.
I know this sounds vague but it is the truth. You need more information from a trained machinist before making this decision or have at lest a complete working knowledge of how to measure bore sizes.
Good luck
