Default Balance shaft seals - reusage?

I have to replace the rear seal I my lower (left) balance shaft as it is leaking quite badly.

I have decided while I am in the area to service the oil cooler and reseal everything there too.

At present I have the exhaust off to give more room.

It seems I need to remove the rear of the belt cover as it is blocking the front of the lower shaft housing by the steering pump. Obviously this means taking all the belts off and installing a flywheel lock first after getting it to TDC.

My query is as I have just installed new oil seals, o rings and mylar washers to both balance shafts, can I re-use these to reassemble?

Best to get new? I am hoping if I am careful they will be ok.

The car has done zero miles since they were fitted, and literally only 20 minutes of idling before I discovered the leak.

Typical I should need to undo all the work I had just done a few weeks earlier.

I am starting to figure that I should do the upper (right) balance shaft's rear seal too as that I am sure is about to start leaking once I have put it all back together.

Thanks in advance guys.

No, I wouldn't re-use a seal.

Makes sense.

I have been thinking. Is it possible to open the balance shaft housing to replace the rear seal/o ring without taking off the front of the housing?

If so that saves me a whole load of pain.

Thanks

No, not possible... That said, clean off the disk and rear BS housing area with brake fluid and use some Black RTV to seal the disk in place... The O-ring was a bad idea to start with, just needed to align bore the bearing surfaces.

I do the same but with Ultra Grey. No leaks.

Ok some progress............

Belts and pulleys off.
Rear of belt cover off.

Lower balance end cap mount off.

The main oil seal for the balance shaft comes out in the end cap still holding the top hat bearing in situ.

Now I know I need to replace the mylar washer and the O ring, but what about the main seal? It is in perfect condition and upon reinstall the balance shaft slides through the top hat.

Opinions? The seal is new.

Thanks
