I'm fighting with one on a S2 engine bolted to a stand in my garage. DeWalt electric impact wrench didn't get it loose. Long breaker bar with a pipe extension and my 6'3" inch brother is the next step.

With help of my "little" brother mine broke loose with a good "Three Stooges" sound effect creaking. Konakat you were right on with your torque estimate, Steve was leaning on a 16 inch breaker bar with all his might.

I'm having to wrestle with this today. The XZN bit it working its way out that the teeth on the bolt are starting to get ruined. The hole is not deep enough to be able to give it enough torque.

You need to support the head of the wrench so it doesn't torque sideways. Also make sure you are hammering it in first to get it nice and seated. Are you doing this is with the cam tower in the car or no? I put a board under the heads of the wrenches when I did it. If you are working in the car then you might be able to stand a board up on the ground that comes through the engine bay to the correct height?

Always keep that socket in the bolt square, get a helper to hold it in place if you need. Stripping the bolt sucks. I managed it on my motor with an 18" breaker bar and a steady hand keeping the bit square and a helper holding the wrench, it took some force to break loose but no damage to the bolt. Go slow and be mindful of that bit and you'll be ok.

Me too... It's a huge pain, and ate a couple of different tools in the removal process. Just once, I'd love to have the bolt that snaps off and needs to be drilled out NOT be ludicrously well-hardened metal. Something easy to drill out would be a nice change...

I also found it difficult to drill but I did get it out eventually. I don't remember exactly what kind of bit I used, but I knew the bolt was hardened so I chose something appropriate.
You can use an angle grinder to grind down the head of the bolt for some quick progress.

I struggled drilling mine out basically only rounding the hole, until I got a (Rigid brand) cobalt bit, then it drilled through it so easy, it only took about 30 sec. I was absolutely stunned at the difference.
