Late door panel repair

After...years I'm about to finally pull apart my door panels and repair the window switch bezel area. Has anyone been here before and have any tips to offer? Otherwise I'll try to document my repair.

I've seen a repair with fiberglass on a previous 944 I briefly owned. Looked like an easy enough repair but no personal experience.
