Build wise they're not really that different.

My neighbors have 2 Z28s, both modified for performance. Sadly, neither has the elegance or feel of a 944. The interior is cheap in Chevy. The driving position also feels horrible to me compared to the 944.

I hate GEICO with a passion. They tried to screw me as well (9K for an 88 turboS) additionally, they claimed there is no such car. Be careful out there. I am currently searching for another insurance company. Write a letter today. He 'll receive it the same time he receives mine. Good luck

CEO
Mr. Anthony Nicely
GECIO Plaza
Washington, DC 20076

Good Luck

I am insured by GEICO and have never had problems. I had two windshields replaced while in FL and use their towing service a bit. They never hassle me. It's a shame that many are having trouble. I've never had an accident so I don't know what would happen in that case. You guys are scaring me!

My car:
86 951 110,000 miles.
Salvage title.
Body is a 9.5/10. The body repairman bought the car to restore for his daughter. He did a wonderful job. There are rock chips and door dings, but I use the car as a daily driver from May thru Nov.

Interior is a 8/10. Seats are a little worn and dash is cracked. Otherwise in good shape.

Mech is 9.5/10. However, one of the rollers froze and the belt jumped timing. Fortunately the car was at a low idle and no damage was done. Put about $600 into new belts/pulleys. Then the waterpump went and put another $350 in it. Engine runs great, turbo spools right up. Runs like a dog with it's tail on fire!
A/c is dead and cruise is dead (stalk broke!). Everything else works.

Paid $5400 in 2/03. Hope this helps ya!

As promised I wrote GEICO's CEO and invited him to visit our board and search GEICO.

I'll post here if I hear from anyone or if my issues with GEICO is addressed (positively or negatively).

MichelleJD no doubt being an attorney helped you with your dealings. Further, there is not much that they can do other than replace your windshield. It's when our vehicles get into an accident with moderate body damage is there real trouble with GEICO

Finally, if you have GEICO I stronger suggest that you look for another insurance carrier

We had a conversion van that was insured by GEICO and it caught fire while going down the road and the fire dept took 20 min to get the scene. Needless to say it burned to the ground. Luckily no one was hurt. It was 2 years old, very very low mileage and being a custom conversion it was loaded with tv, vcr, dvd, all leather wood ceiling with recessed track lighting, the works. It was a factory conversion van bought new from the Ford dealership with a $45k sticker price. GEICO tried to pay the claim based on a Ford Econoline striped van. It was just insulting. We had to fight them for 4 months to even come close to getting a payoff we would even consider. We still lost big time. Needless to say no one in the family has anything insured with GEICO any more. Good luck you have a fight on your hands. Of course they were happy to take you premium every month. I'll say it again F*%#ing insurance companies, they are lower than Whale Sh*t.

Michelle of course they will pay to have a windshield fixed, that is peanuts. But if you get in an accident you can kiss that car goodbye if GEICO is paying you . Don't bother paying for full coverage with GEICO they just take money, they don't return it if you need it.

Good luck Tom, you'll need it.

thanks for inviting them to look here.

it will save me time since all my research is posted here. Now they can see it and draw the correct conclusion without me having to explain it again to them.

Nobody here mentioned that Geico also supplies FREE RADAR EQUIPMENT TO MANY POLICE DEPARTMENTS.

I'd light myself on FIRE before I got insurance from those filthy b@stards.

Hey all. this is my newbie post. GEICO, w/1 insurance "point" (aft a small acc claim in my daily car)-not to be mistaken w/DMV points as I am a good driver, is astronomical !! DMV, shows no points and good driver record. GEICO must think I'm a bad driver now, well It WENT UP and it wasn't a lil either ---It's crazy what I pay now!!-
