Default My AC died

Tuesday on my way home from work my AC was weak. So yesterday I opted to drive my BMW to work and returned home yesterday evening with a couple cans of r134a. I charged it with one can and checked the pressure gauge and it indicated the level was just barely in the green. So I added the second can and it didn't increase by much. Took it for a spin last evening and it blew cold. Drove it to work this AM and it seemed fine. After work, no cold air at all. Got home and found a puddle of compressor oil around what looks like part #24 of the AC diagram on this site.

The two connectors are wet with oil and there is a puddle. I was unable to find any leakage from anywhere else. I took a picture. Maybe it will make sense.

Could I have blown out this switch by adding two cans of Freon? or is it more likely that the switch was on its way out anyways?

Pressure Switches leaking oil are not common,
but the o-ring between the switch and connection could be,
or its the AC hose.

Also, check where you connected the hose from the refrigerant
can to the service port, sometimes the schrader valve in the service
port and can stuck open.

Clean ever thing up and see if you can locate the leak point
in a day or so, or recharge and watch. That's quite a
big leak.

I ordered a AC pressure switch today with O ring. I will attempt to recharge and find any other leaks.

you might have overfilled it - fill by pressure (high/low) and you will be OK - I exploded a high side hose by over filling - so I'm smarter now.
