so how exactly is the weight of the CS reduced? I would've assumed by stripping the interior some, but if the S has the same reduced weight and a street interior, does it still have the weight reduction? I guess what I'm asking is there any weight reduction done with the chassis, or is it all just in the interior?

Here you go, CS specs:
17" wheels (225 front, 255 rear), no sound proofing, lower suspension, no rear wiper, no airbag(s), sports steering wheel, no rear seats, no electric windows, no electric sunroof, no electric/heated mirrors, special front seats.

Scootin, if I recall correctly the CS 'diet' includes the following:
recaro racing buckets (glassfibre backs)
manual windows
no central locking
no rear seat backs (bases left in place, covered with glassfibre shelf)
no luggage cover
smaller battery & simplified wiring loom
1 cooling fan instead of 2
944 style door trim w/only 1 speaker per door
no rear wiper
no external hatch release
internal electric hatch release replaced by pull-cord
reduced soundproofing
no alarm
no lid on centre console cubby
outside temp guage deleted
no clock in console (the old 944 digital clock was resurrected)
no a/c or cruise control (although these were not standard in Europe on the regular car)
The Sport had only some of this stuff deleted, so the weight reduction was only 20kg compared to 50kg for the CS.

..."But January 1994 saw Porsche launch arguably their best 968 of all, the 968 Sport striking a perfect balance between the hardcore Club Sport (covered in Part 2) and the regular Coupe. Available as a UK market special only, the 968 Sport retailed at £3000 above the Club Sport, customers getting a few more of the luxuries required for every day motoring. Electric windows and mirrors returned, as did central locking, an alarm, the rear seats and the electric tailgate release that had been ditched on the Club Sport. Coming out only 30kg heavier than the CS then, the Sport posted all but identical performance figures, some 306 having been completed by the time 968 production ended. However, the model was turning into a commercial disaster for Porsche and the Sport came too late to make any difference, production of the 1994 model year 968's dropping to a miserly 1076 Coupe's and 869 Cabriolet's – a far cry from the mid 1980’s when the 944 was exceeding 25,000 units per year. 1995 was the final year of production as dreadful sales figures led Porsche to withdraw the model, this one year earlier than scheduled after just 258 US-bound Coupe's and 367 Cabriolet's were built in those final twelve months. "

So there was no electric sunroof in the CS, does that mean no sunroof at all, or a manual lift mechanism?
I can understand why they'd put the electric hatch release back in the S, I don't think I could live without mine.

Found the RS and it is for sale!
I have never seen a Turbo S , which is not surprising considering there were only 14 built. I did find a website last year of an RS some guy in Mass owns. Imported it from Germany. He had pictures from NH speedway!

Factory 968 Turbo RS. $4 of 4. Last front-engined racecar built by Porsche and the last 4-cylinder racecar built by Porsche. On display for several years and is the only one in it's original condition. 337HP with restrictor plate; can easily be increased as demonstrated by other Turbo RS cars that have 450+ HP. Originally purchased by Joest Racing to compete in the 1993 German ADAC GT series. First race at the Nurburgring where it qualified on the pole, driven by Manuel Reuter. Bumped from behind by a 911 RS 3.8, and was damaged in front and back. Went back to the factory and was repaired by Porsche. Then purchased by Roock Racing. Original Grand Prix white paint scheme was enhanced with a blue front-end and Mobil 1 graphics. Raced by Dieter Koll in the 1994 ADAC GT series and later raced by Mr. Bobach a few times, then sat for a number of years on display in a VW dealership in Germany. In 1999 Tim Seidel sold the car to me. It car was shipped to the US where it currently resides in MA. Since then used only for a limited number of autocrosses and driver education track days.
Extremely reliable. Equipped with all the best equipment right from the factory with a sophisticated rollcage tied to all four suspension points, Halon fire suppression system, emergency electrical disconnect, air jacks, adjustable rear wing, front air splitter, 43 liter fuel cell. Upgrades include an additional 2.5 lb fire extinguisher. Passenger seat exactly matching the driver seat was obtained and has installed. Upgraded control arms installed for safety. Seat back braces have been added, harnesses replaced with new ones. Included are the air jack activation tool, two sets of wheels, two sets of Pirelli slicks (one with some use, one fresh set). Amazingly fast and is easy to drive, not tail-heavy like a 911. This is the final development of Porsche's 924/944/968 series. Price from the factory was 228,000 DM.
