Carfax often messes up Cdn cars that use METRIC because they are inconsistent in the conversions. But for MILES, I doubt that there is a screw up there. 8 years, 104K miles = 13K niles per year, and for a 944NA, that might not be unrealistic.
A lot of these cars were 1 car owner cars at the time they came out, and people piled on the miles.
The 968 Cab I just picked up racked up 75K Kls = 46,600 miles in the first 30 months the first owner had it - drove it from Calgary, to Florida, to LA - back and forth several times.
I'd be leery of that mileage. If you can pull the instrument cluster out (doubt the dealer will let you do that tho), you can check the date code on the cluster to see if it was a swap. But then it's so easy to roll back the odometer, even that will not help.
Suspect the rollback unless the rest of the car is representative of a 74K mile car 18 years @ 4100 miles a year of average is REALLY low. What about the maintenance history? Maybe a local Porsche dealer can pull a service record off the VIN for you. The first owner probably serviced the car at a dealer, and the mileage would have been recorded.
It's too easy to swap pedal rubber, capets, etc. to make a high miler look like a garage queen. Good luck!
