Default brake booster heat shield removal

How does the bottom of the brake booster heat shield on the '86 turbo 944 attach? Is it bolted or simply slid over a serrated screw stud? I can't see in there and can't feel far enough to see how it's attached. I have to wonder if Clark ever tried to remove this thing. He makes it sound simple. Also posted on PP>

The bottom next to the firewall fastens to a stud with a 10mm nut. I've had success reaching it from under the car.

Ok, then, it's down a dirty. I had to get under there anyhow.
