Yes, this is a GTS Club Sport while the one in your picture is a GTS.
Club sport version got a factory installed aluminium roll cage.

Is Aluminum legal in any racing sanctioning body?

Hi, it is not, unfortunately. The ROW 924 and 944 bumperettes are different. Last time I searched they were NLA from Porsche and someone was going to try to make some for their reproduction CGT front spoiler but it might have been a pipe dream.

i'd like to upload more images, but it seems i've reached my quota, for some reason-i could describe the engine to you, in glowing detail, if you like :)

J1NX3D 04-06-2015 08:02 PM

you can use a 3rd party to host your photos, like imageshack. please do it asap :)

HICKS 04-07-2015 10:50 AM

Rennlist is a bitch, so you need to pay to post a bunch of pics. Its only like $18, or you can do what J1NX3D said.

HICKS 04-07-2015 10:51 AM

Regardless, please post more pics!

You most certainly did !

Wow!

Any good photos of the dash?

http://www.justdashes.com/ can redo the dash professionally. For this car, that may be a better option than attempting a homemade repair IMHO (having messed with that option a couple times).

Bruce owned Bayside Disposal and his motto was "Trash is Cash" he had caricatures on all of his race cars of a garbage man hauling a can slung over his shoulder. Looking through my old photos to see if I can find an example. Great find!

GJB928 04-08-2015 11:47 AM

If that's the car I think it is, it has some Trans Am race history and was once owned by Al Holbert and also driven by Doc Bundy, Hurley Haywood and/or Bruce. He bought a couple of cars from Holbert for the '82 Trans Am season.

philt68 04-08-2015 02:51 PM

i'd love to know it's the same car! as far as i understand, it was bruce's daily driver for a long time-i don't know if he raced it or not..any clue how we can find out?

Tough part to find. Hershey swap meet is in the next few weeks.

Even better bring the car to Hershey!

Butters944 04-08-2015 08:58 PM

Holy grail indeed... Only 15 of them ever made apparently? One listed recently at over 1/3 million USD..

GJB928 04-09-2015 12:21 AM

hmmm. If it was his daily driver, it may not have race history. Probably wouldn't be too hard to track him down and ask him. I think Bruce is living in Montana and is still President of Montana Waste Systems Inc. Call him. I bet he'd love to know the status of his old car.
