Talking 2.5L Euro Piston serch

TaboII

Thought I would give this another shot and see is any of the Euro Rennlisters can lend me a hand. I am looking for a reasonably priced set of 2.5L N/A pistons in good shape that I can install into a US model car. Anyone out there on the Euro side of the plaint able to help out?

Thanks In advance

Hmm, what are you willing to pay? PM or email if you don't want to post it here.

Higher compression, the euro models have about 17hp more. It is quite a difference. I have owned both euro and us spec 944's

I have a set of '88 high-compression 2.5 8-valve pistons, which I believe are the same as the Euros used all along. They're stock pistons, with about 130K on them. They look decent, but let me measure them and make sure they're OK.

Bonus: I'm in MA so you can pick them up and verify they're in good condition.

I also have the rest of my '88 M44/09 engine to pick over - the block is toast though. But everything else is good.

Let me measure the pistons and make sure they're in spec.

The pre 88 pistons are rated at 9.7 to 1 compression. The 88 pistons are rated at 10.2 and the euro pistons are rated at 10.5. According to the factory manuals there is a diiference between the Euro pistons and the 88 pistons.
The same compression ratio can be had though by installing the 88 pistons and then having the head milled. This is what I did and it was much cheaper as I was able to get a new set of pistons and rings off of e-bay for less than $350.00.
