Question towing my 944, assistance plz

ok soo i moved to vegas and i'm goin back to FL to pick up my car and the rest of my ****... i'm gonna rent a uhaul and was planning to put my car on the flat bed behind it... uhaul tells me my car wont make ground clearance... my pops thinks i can leave the rear wheels on the ground, i don't believe that is a good idea... anyone moved there car either way, and know if it will fit on the flat bed car carrier???

thanks for the help

I moved from Chicago to Minneapolis (400 miles) with a UHaul full flatbed towed behind the truck. Worked great. Cost was only 80 bucks extra.

The car will run up on the trailer fine. Then you use the front webbing straps to tie down the front wheels. The rear is another matter. Either you need some hold downs tacked on, the towing truck T hooks, or just leave the rear free. I left the rear free and everything turned out OK.

Oh, don't go above 60 to 65 (max) MPH. That trailer will start wagging like a dog's tail if you are too fast and try and drag you off the road.

I've had mine towed twice - both times by the rear wheels. The front spoiler was pretty close to the ground, but other than that...I had no problems!

i have towed 4 924/944 cars, 2 with the front wheel dolly and 2 with the flatbed, if you tell them what car its for they will not rent it to you, tell them its for something else, teh flatbed is a better bet for a ride taht long, think of all those miles your putting on the cv's and trans that are unnessessary.

Towed mine with the car dolly from U-Haul. Worked fine!
