Default Impressions of Lindsey's 'Sport' turbos

Lindsey sells the Kokeln turbos but also advertises their own which are labeled 'Sport'. I'm contacting Lindsey for the specifics but would appreciate any imressions or experiences those you using them may have.

TIA,
Daniel

I just purchased and installed Lindsey's Sport turbocharger. It was as advertised a direct bolt in with no grinding necessary. You are going to have to do some coolant hose re-routing, judicial bending of the Y water pipe on the side of the turbo (I bent it forward and sideways to clear the the sensor with the manifold). There a small tread on this. Be slow and careful.

I am waiting for the balance of my MAP Stage II to post my results. However, with AFM removed, the Link module installed, stock injectors, adjustable fuel regulator, Authority stage II chips (stock banjo bolt re-installed) and 12 psi the performance is unbelievable. The air/ fuel ratio sucks. I am either too rich at the lower end for the proper upper ratio or good idle and mid range and lean upper end. This is far from an ideal situation.

Yet, turbo lag is about the same as my stock k26/8. The seat of my pants dyno tells me that the turbo is great. 1st gear about 4K my BF Goodrich tires throws out the white towel faster than the French, in second gear they are still shredding leaving impressive marks on the pavement, and its pulling very impressively in third all the way to the redline. I just got off the telephone with Danno. I should have the balance of my stuff on Tuesday. I’ll be at the dyno this Saturday and post my results.

Contrary to popular belief, the turbocharger is not burning oil. There is some black smoke at idle due to my rich condition. The worst part of my up grade was making the J pipe fit under the hood (big issue). See modify at www.turbo911.com. I am extremely please with the turbocharger. It works and installs just as Dave said it would.

Thank you for your input. Any idea how much power you're getting and what you expect once you fix the AFR?

According to Dave 375-350. I forgot, the wires coming from behind and on top of the alternator has to be re-routed as well. Takes approximately twenty minutes not including the drying time of silicone. We'll have tangible dyno results soon. I'll post them along with an album of pictures. Hang onto your dollars so you can make an informed decision. Good Luck ed.
