i saw that video techno, the kid in an eclipse pulls next to an m3 at a light, hes talking all this smack like how slow m3's are and this and that, by the way if you notice the cameraman showed the driver of the m3 for a second...a much much older male who obviously isnt interested. then the eclipse blows up.....

Don't underestimate the "much much older males," they are not always timid! I work with some folks that are pretty nifty with a wrench. One guy has an early 70' olds wagon with drag slicks. It's loud, stupid looking, and doesn't spin when he launches. (good weight transfer) He is quite a sight.

Remember, most of the much older males taught you or your mechanic to turn a wrench.

It's better to overestimate your advisary than to underestimate him. I'm done now....

no doubt, but this particular guy looked like my grandpa and had an m3 because he can, not so he could drag with some teen in an eclipse. However if i had that m3 i woulda ripped that kid a new exit tunnel.

New eclipses don't have turbos, they stopped making the turbo model in 1999. The GS-T and GSX (AWD) are actually pretty fast and with light mods are decent cars.

Lots of guys will challenge a car that they know will blow their doors off just to see it run (unless money is involved.) After all, how many Porsches does an 18-20 year old kid in an Eclipse get to run against?

The kid in the Eclipse is probably posting the tale on his favorite board right now, describing in detail how he had you by 5 or 10 feet. "Lots of top end, but no throttle response. Eventually, he passed me well over 80 MPH." You just can't win the races in some people's delusional minds.

In the kid's defense, I'm pretty sure that if an Enzo pulled next to me on the highway, I'd have to resist baiting him a little.

You lost the race, even though your car has 300 stock hp!!!

Sorry couldn't resist.

My wife and I owned a '98 GS-T for about a year. It was a quick car, very sharp looking and comfortable. It was white with the 16" chrome Mitsu wheels and dark black tint. Tan leather interior. We sold it because I got paranoid after reading about all the crank walk problems that these cars have. It pulled really hard in 1st-3rd but then the power tapered off. It handled pretty good on the street too. I wouldn't have wanted to push it very hard though. I never Auto-x'd, I could just see getting black cone marks on my wifes beautiful white car....
My Miata at 8psi would rip it a new one

Yea, I did a few months back. Was tooling down I95 one day and an original Shelby Cobra, big block came down the on ramp and proceeded to just cruise along with the traffic flow. Pulled up along side him but didn't get any response....for a while.... then he hammered down and what a beautiful sound, and away he went.
Thats all,
Bill
