Super easy to test the coils. Pull up the coils individually, put in a spark plug, turn on test mode, and watch for spark.
here is my settings

I figured out my TPS issue, for some reason I had the pins in the incorrect order when I assembled my ECU harness. Re-pinned the TPS and all is good. I took the opportunity to open the base tune file from DIYAutotune and compare it against my current tune to see if I could find any settings which might explain why I can’t get my car started. Below are some of the comparisons if it makes sense to anyone else here.

I think confirming that the plugs are sparking is your first step. If it's not firing at all and you have fuel and compression, it's the next logical place to start. There are usually specifications for dwell etc. with the coils. Can you post a picture of a log when you're cranking it too? With pulsewidth, spark adv, etc.

^^^ What Justin Said... Start with spark. Gotta know you have that first.
Now, is the Tac moving on Tuner studio when you crank it over?? If Not, check what Justin said about the logs. Check the composite logger, I think it's called that, while cranking it over, and make sure you have a good signal from the crank and cam sensors.
If yes, then you are now looking at fuel......

I would think literally everything should be the same on the two programs, except for the sequential spark settings, and injector size settings !!! I see a lot of stuff different

I just looked at this a bit closer, are you using a 16V 60-2 flywheel, or are you using a different trigger wheel?

Pretty sure I just found out why. Was testing the coils today and they all fired just fine in test mode. When I went to pop one back onto the head, I didn’t feel it “catch” on the spark plug. Pulled the plug and after looking at it and comparing it to my ignition tester, I discovered the plugs are too wide in diameter to fit into the VAG coil. Once I realized the problem, I went to the parts store to pick up a set of plugs for a TSI engine. Unfortunately, while they fit the VAG coils, they sit lower in the head than the Porsche plugs so the coils no longer sit elevated enough to get the connectors on. I don’t have access to a database to search which plugs would potentially fit the coils and head, so I’m going to look for some standoffs I can use to space the spark plug connector up so it fits correctly into the coil and the coil sits in a good position above the valve cover. I’m happy to have discovered everything else worked without issue and I’m amazed it nearly ran with what amounted to disconnected coils.

I know this sounds cheezy.... but put a spring on top of the plugs, about 1 inch. Then put the coils back on. VW / Audi make 2 lengths of coils, you need the longer one to work in that car. The springs are a temporary measure, but i know for a fact if works. I did the same thing

Already ordered some M4 standoffs from McMaster, they’ll be here Monday. The coils I ordered are the “long” version for the TSI engines. I don’t know of any VAG coils that are longer than the ones I’m using. It does explain why they haven’t been used on more builds, but I’ll say this; they look like they were designed to be there in the first place. My car is at a friend’s shop, so I’ve been commuting there to work on it. We’re moving the car to my garage this coming week so I’ll be able to work on it during the week. Very excited to get her running and driving.

Default Microsquirt and 07K-905-715-F coils on 16v 944 S2

It was actually harder to source proper connectors for the coils than it was to find the coils themselves.
Question for forum: Wondering if additional drive circuitry is needed for the packaged Microsquirt v3 on this coil in sequential setup? Thanks much.
