I would like to encourage all new users to consider becoming a paid member of the forum. it's $17 a year (about the cost of 10 minutes of a Porsche mechanic) and I guarantee you will save that x 100 the first time you have a problem. I am mechanically inclined but never worked on cars until I got the first of two 944s I have 2 years ago. I still haven't had to pay anyone to work on my cars and I have done a lot. To me the hard part is diagnosing the problem and for that this forum is a godsend. Please do us all a favor and buy a paid membership, I would really hate it if this forum ever went down and since you own a 25-30 year old Porsche, you probably can't afford to let that happen either. Just sayin'...
