Yep got the same exact problem here. Have to drive without the A/C. Already replaced thermostat, water pump and belts. Only thing left is the radiator. Got a new one sitting in a box now have to find the time to install it. I don't use the car much so it will be a while before I find out if this is the answer.

Where did you get your radiator and how much did it cost?

I also got mine from paragon for $240. Ebay had some new ones though for around $180 I believe.

I agree with Paul C. Definitely clean up (at least) the main ground at the bellhousing. If the engine's ground is poor, the additional current through the compressor clutch can make the gauge float upward.
