I second cleaning the idle control valve. After you remove it check for carbon on the rotating valve. I had idle problems last winter and just cleaning the idle control valve fixed it. ---Roy--

mine does this too. and when it drops down the rear view mirrors shake (motor mounts)

i don't understand: Why would the motor mounts cause this??

it seems to me that something else is causing the idle to change and the motor mount being bad is just another symptom my car has?

BTW it was very simple to get get the O2 sensor off my 924...so, i'll most likely pick up a new O2 sensor for my 944...if it helps i'll tell y'all

Boy, it's been a long time since I started this thread!

Anyway, I bought a generic Bosche O2 sensor. I tried to remove the old O2 sensor myself, and couldn't get it (warm or cold). Shortly after trying myself, I had the car to my mechanic for something else, and had him replace the O2 sensor. This more or less cured my idling problem. The idle has been MUCH smoother since replacing the O2 sensor. It's not as smooth as my Boxster, but much improved over what it had been.

Cheers,

Mark
