Default Starter not catching the teeth

Well, I put a turbo aluminum flywheel, turbo pressure plate and turbo disk into my 924S, and the starter wont engage the ring teeth. I have tried two different starters (both tested good). The clutch housing AND the starter for the turbo's and NA's are the same part numbers. So, anyone want to venture a guess as to what I might be missing?????

did you put the ring gear on the pressure plate? The ring gear is not an ntegral part of the press. plate, but is transferred from old pp. to new.

Yeah, ring is there, the turbo plate has 132 teeth and the na plate has 130 teeth - that issue I will take care of with software.

Does the starter gear extend even with the flywheel teeth?

That is the strange thing, it makes a sound like it is just nicking the outside of the teeth when it kicks out - but the turbo ring, if anything, is slightly larger in diameter than the na.

If the ring gear is different and the starters are the same then the bell housings have to be different or it simply could not work.
