UPDATE on my Dad! Thanks for the prayers!

Keith, that it great news. We can use it this week. Still keeping your dad in our prayers. We missed you today. Catch you next time. You take care of your dad. And your mom. Tell them we're thinking of them.

That's great man. I can really sympathize, as I lost my step-dad to a heart attack. He also did the angioplasty/bypass stuff, but failed to take the recovery stuff seriously enough. Diet, smoking and lack of continuous exercise caught back up with him, stupid and pointless.
Make sure you encourage him to exercise, since thats the toughest but most important part of recovery. In fact we all ought to walk a few miles a week just because someone cares about us.

I double-checked and my Father-In-Law actually had CAB7 (thought they would do 3 of them, did 7). Seems to be a good "while you're in there" thing to do. The nurses will chase him out of bed, make him walk, force fast rehab. It will look pretty cruel, but it does seem to facilitate the speediest recovery. It gets better soon after that.
Best Wishes,

That's great Keith!
In a few weeks you'll have to start checking your rear view mirrors for that 924!
Keith's Dad:
Take care of yourself , do the recovery exercise regimen. You've obviously got a son who thinks a lot of you!

*** UPDATE NUMBER 2 ***
Mom called tonight and said that they have pulled all of Dad's connecting wires, probes, and tubes. Seems he's doing very well and they expect to release him on Tuesday or Wednesday. He has started to walk a bit, but is still stiff - as one would imagine. Thanks again for all your messages of hope and prayer. It's at times like these that I remember why I'm a member of the Rennlist community. You guys (and gals) have out done yourselves again! Thank you.

Most excellent news... Glad things went so well. Again if yall need anything, we are all just down the highway here.
One of the things our Dr told us after my Mom had stints done a couple of years ago. Prepare for them to have "good days" and "not so good days" , "because she's been through a lot"
This was important for us to hear because there were ups and downs in the recovery, and we were at least aware of what was happening.
Just my .02 and wishes for a fast and complete recovery.

Thanks Kevin - but it'll have to be low fat and heart healthy! Yuck! We're eating all the ice cream and peanut butter now - before dad gets home. (just kidding - well kinda kidding - OK - I'm scarfing the ice cream and peanut butter - sorry dad).
