Default High Octane ?

Last week I moved into a new home; my first trip to the local Sunoco and I find they are selling 104 octane. Question is just how much boost can I run on 104. I usually run about 15 psi. BTW the car has Huntley MAF and a cheater 2 turbo??

The trick isn't finding adequate octane, but providing more fuel to match the increased boost. How are you going to increase fuel? And do you know how much fuel to add? And how flat is your fuel-curve? It may be lean in some spots and rich in others. Time for some dyno-testing..

i thought if you had higher octane you could go a bit leaner without detonation. i know that more fuel helps cool down the motor to help prevent detonation but if the gas can take it, why not?

You miss the point dualblade.

It isnt that the higher octane fuel wouldnt permit higher boost, it would. But you also need more of it, and at the right time. As in larger injectors, increased FPR and/or remapped chips like Danno mentioned. It actually is a bit of a science.

You can probably ask around here, there are a few guys that have seriously jacked their engines by not understanding this stuff.
