The "ketchup effect" is to describe an engine that takes time to build up boost..

Take a bottle of Heinz and try and get some on you Spaghetti. First there is nothing, then nothing - then you shake it a little and your plate is full of Ketchup..

man, someone seems obsessed with how good his turbo miata is and how it will beat our old 944's.

wanna cookie michael???

at the end of the day, its still a mazda/mitsu.

awesome project by the way, sounds like a blast! if only i had money for a second car like that... most people get daily drivers that are a 'lil more sedate than their 'weekend warriors'. i see you've flipped roles there .

One word: nuts.

One phrase: I want one of those when I grow up. (Oh, I am grown up.) I want one when my kids grow up!

If that's sarcasm, it's pretty subtle.

No sarcasm at all, it is quite an achievement.

- Jim B's intercooler pipes kit
- Autometer boost gauge
- Autometer EGT gauge
- Autometer A/F gauge
- A Pillar mount for gauges
- BEGI Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator
- Walbro 342 hp fuel pump
- BIPES Aux timing Control Unit
- NGK colder plugs
- Valve Cover Breather
- Bosche Posilok 4 wire O2 sensor
- FM Turbo PCV valve

I don't have any dyno sheets just yet. I have a new cat-back exhaust that should be here tommorow and a new downpipe that should be here in a week. After I get the exhaust all setup I am going to a local Bosche sevice center that has a dyno. The stock exhaust is just way to restrictive to put down any serious power. Although just like it is at 5-6psi it will lay the smack down on a 944.

Once I get the exhaust I am setting the car up at 8psi.
All that and you only have your stock exhaust!!! MAN!!! Try pushing air via a straw.... You need to open that puppy up!!

I had a 2 1/2 pipe from the engine to the back with a high flow SS muffler with a 3" outlet...

Get rid of the straw... And yes... too bad for the limited gearing... but then again... that is one fast tic tac (mine was white )

Drill out the Cat and stick a cherry bomb going right back the middle with a black chrome tip. I helped my friend with his Miata do that and it looks very nice. Cheap and easy. Cost about 40 bucks altogether.
