Upper Strut Mount Question - Early V. Late
Is there any reason that I can't replace my 1987 944 strut mounts with the cheaper 1983-86 variety?
I notice that all of the aftermarket mounts (camber plates) work for all years.
Thanks Again.

They won't work, The later strut mounts are at a different angle than the earlier ones. I think that it is because of the wider track for the ABS. I found this out when I converted a set of early struts to work on my 87 na.

What are the DOWNSIDES to installing the "early" strut mounts?
I am replacing the strut mounts in my 1986 944. I was planning to install the updated 951 mounts - and then I saw the price.
Any harm in sticking with the original ($30) mounts?
