Like the person said, $500 is saying they don't want it,,,more importantly said, "I don't need the hassle."
Go to the other recommended shop owners, who love Porsches and do it for a living.
Back in 2000, I paid $225 for a PPI and that was at a dealership.

Its not like that same-town-hate-your-guts relationship between Anderson Motorworks/Speedforce and Huntley out in San Diego.
For what its worth, if you are thinking of ever tracking your 944, its probably worth it to go to Sam or Viking, as they are the two P-car guys in houston who are most intimately involved in DE/Racing and both know how to set up our cars for the track. There is another guy who is now chair of DE (Eric something) whose shop is also out in Stafford (Valkerie Racing, or something like that?). There is a lot to be said for having work done on your car by someone who will be the track on the weekends when you are there in case some problem emerges.

Eric is still at Eurocar, (713)661-6428. He's very capable in most matters, but I don't rely on him exclusively. If he gets the feeling you are, he starts looking at you like a blank check.
