The shifter felt like I was stirring jello after an intersection downshift into first gear. no gears....no problem!.. thanks to this forum! I checked Clark's under "linkage" and did a quick search here that led me to Only944's website with great photos and ..bingo! the "e"clip had come off under the boots and even a nonmechanic like me had the car driveable enough to get back home in 1 hour!
