OT: Opinions on the BMW 6 Series

I learned to drive on an old one! Manual steering, automatic 633. Great car! We never had a problem with it. Finally my father sold it. I wish we still had it. One day i'll buy him another. He always regreted selling it. Awesome handling, great road feel as far as i remember. Definately worth checking them out at least. Find a nice one, there seems to be a lot floating around.

classic BMW 2 door pillarless coupe from the 70's and 80's. A bit long in the tooth and I imagine the mechanicals will be expensive to maintain, but this was a top of the line car back then. Really classy, big greenhouse.
Go for it! If you get a 635CSL that is something special.

One of my profs in college had a silver 635csi he drove. He was a UNC and Texas grad. I knew it was his car b/c it was parked in the faculty lot with the plates GO HEELS. He had it tricked out a bit -- exhaust, rims, tint, etc. It looked quite yummy.

Back in 88 my dad got a BMW 6 series L6 which would be today’s equivalent of the M class cars they make. Beautiful car Black on Black, full leather, Rear AC. Dad got rid of it back in 94 wished he did not would have made a hell of a first car. In its day they were near super cars.

Definitely a classy coupe. Go for one of the later years as they are less prone to rust and other troubles.
I saw a picture of the new 6-series in Car & Driver (I think) and it just doesn't do the name justice, in my opinion.
