Default Expansion tank replacement - question

Morning all

May seem a silly question - but can I swap out my expansion tank without having to bleed the system?

Thought process:
- disconnect hose and catch coolant from tank
- disconnect other hoses
- replace tank, reconnect hoses
- top-up coolant back to original level

I have a proven track record of being absolutely crap at bleeding cooling systems, so if there's no way out of it, I'll take it to my indy and have them do it with a full flush

Cheers!

If you unbolt the tank and raise it higher than the block, then you wouldn't trap any air, right?

Should be fine, just pinch the hose from the radiator with something.
