I'm sure Michelle wouldn't mind a few lawyer jokes. The're easy enough to come up with.

Phone Dials should be OK but consider that the flat disc wheels are forged and so are lighter/stronger. I would put autocross/DE tires on the discs and use them for those events and put some street tires on the PD's and use them the rest of the time. Where you live that may allow the use of HP all-season tires for street use which would make it safer to use the car in cold weather vs ultra performance summer or competition tires on the discs. That is what I would do if I had some late offset 16x7/8 phone dials.

All of the rims Porsche put on these cars (PDs, Fuchs, even humble old cookie cutters) are of higher quality than average, and quite suitable to racing, DEs, autox or just plain spirited street driving. Unless of course you suspect some defect unique to your wheels such as damage, non-roundness, etc.

Other than the "stuck in the eighties look", I've never had a problem with phone dials, fuchs or even cookie cutters. I may have even performed some agricultural analysis on them as well... I have seen no less than two aftermarket Cup or Cup2 wheels break apart thru heavy use... my opinion of non-performance aftermarket wheels (ROH, MM, Gotti, old BBS, etc) is the best they will ever accomplish is a relatively nice and updated look.

Now, ball joints, transaxles and rod bearings I can tell you should never be used for more than examples of failed engineering practices. boohoo

Good Luck!

Because ours haven't broken, so we don't need a replacement.
I've been thinking of getting a second set for some R-compounds. If you have 16x7/8 (or wider) late offsets, at a rock bottom price, I'll buy them.

ive read in a few places that phone dials are very good track wheels because they offer superior brake cooling than cookie cutter, fuchs or flat dish wheels. I dont know if their is any truth to that however.
