The gas cap uses the same key as the doors & ignition? Didn't know that. Never tried it; I figured it was like the glovebox. Unless the glovebox uses the same key.. then I'm really missing out Bhahahaha

Glovebox uses a different key. That way you can have some things locked up when you valet the car. Of course, the valet may be siphoning your gas during your second course.

Valet? I thought 944 is the Poor Man's Porsche. No worries here

Is there any way to track down a matching gas cap lock cylinder to the ones I already have, or would I have to rekey the whole car?

If the latter, I'll just buy a keyless 911 cap. It will be exactly the same as my current, but I won't see "volvo" every time I fill up.
You can easily re-key what ever cylinder is in there to match the rest of the car.

Great, thanks, that’s what I needed to know. Is that something any good locksmith can do for me, or and do I need any parts in addition to the cylinder? Like spare tumblers in various sizes?

There's a right way to do it, which requires additional wafers (tumblers) to get all the right sizes, and then there's the cheap ghetto way to do it, which is, with the lock cylinder removed, and the key you want to use installed, filing down the wafers that are sticking up so that they are flush and allow the lock cylinder to rotate in the cap, allowing it to lock or unlock the cap. I don't think the ghetto method leaves it as secure and working reliably as it should for my taste...I bought a kit that had all new wafers and springs in it, and it worked well.
