Default 87 944S A/C Acting funny - Seeking advice

Hello everyone!

Guess it's about time for something else to break! Today for the second time my A/C refused to engage when the switch (snowflake) was pressed. Trying it repeatedly over a period of several minutes, the compressor finally kicked in.

Anybody else had this happen? A/C blows some cool air when on, but not really cold. May be time for another can of 134A!

Here's what I'm thinking.

Switch has a problem, corrosion, age, whatever.
A/C freon could be down a bit?
or
Maybe the A/C relay is failing?

Anybody care to tell me if I'm way off base on this? Is there a way to test the relay - or does it really matter when starting the compressor? Anything else I should be looking for.

Shucks..... it's been doing so good for soooo long now.

Some advice would be really appreciated about now.

Sounds like it could the relay, its g-17, I would press the switch, then tap the relay if it comes on that that could be it?

Time for more 134a! The compressors have a "low pressure" switch that will prevent them from running if the refrigerant is low.

Be careful not to overcharge the system!
