Default How to add keyless entry to your central locking system for $15

If you want to add keyless entry to your 944 with a working central locking system here's how you do it
<a href="http://s1210.photobucket.com/albums/cc403/use2windsurf2/?action=view&current=be829cb9bfbbd3d676d0a2a46c9490bf.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1210.photobucket.com/albums/cc403/use2windsurf2/be829cb9bfbbd3d676d0a2a46c9490bf.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos" /></a>

using a keyless entry like this (I have used this one on both of my 944s):

Amazon.com : Car Remote Central Lock Locking Keyless Entry System with Remote Controllers : Vehicle Alarm Accessories : Automotive Amazon.com : Car Remote Central Lock Locking Keyless Entry System with Remote Controllers : Vehicle Alarm Accessories : Automotive

What you are doing is connecting the KL entry in parallel with the lock/unlock sensors in the doors. You are making the CLU think you turned the key in the kelock to lock the doors. You can still use the key to lock or unlock if desired.

I spliced the 3 connections to the CLU harness (CLU is mounted on a clip on the steering column just under the dash). you need to use the normally open contacts on your KL entry box. You also need to figure out which relay in the KL entry is for locking and which is for unlocking. on the one I used (link above), connect the box as shown below:

thats it, 3 splices plus power and ground for the KL entry unit. works great.

I installed mine by splicing into the harness under the drivers dash near the door. I also hooked into the hatch release button. I can flip my hatch from the keyless too! I love it
