Question Power Steering on an S

Does anyone know what is different about the power steering system on the S cars? The S is the only 44/24 to have a different power steering pump, and the only one I have found to have a pressure switch, also there is a sealing ring listed for only the S. Really wondering about the pressure switch on it.

Anybody??

The pressure switch is probably related to a recall I had done on my car about 6 months ago (a recall on a 15 year old car with no arguments - brilliant!).

There is a circuit that senses when the pressure is high so that it can kick up the revs, this avoids stalling when on full lock at idle.

Unfortunately the circuit was not fused and can cause electrical fires, hence the recall.

Guess that would explain why the pump is different. Wonder why they only did this on the S cars, and didn't continue it after the S..
