Brian,
My car passed this spring with flying colors, and that was with a hollowed out cat.
In fact, the guy commented that it was the cleanest car number-wise that he had tested all day. I don't know whether to feel good for me or scared for our environment...............

That is what I am thinking, I got it to pass before with 2 dead cells in the cat, 3 bar of fuel, and a slightly rich tune. It passed with a lot of room.

With collector plates don't they limit the mileage you can put on the car every year?

Who is making you get an emissions test? When did this start in Ohio? I've never been asked to get one.

The theory is that folks who live out in the country drive into the city to work, and therefore should be tested. As far as I'm concerned it's just a way to rationalize the collection of more revenue...

That is why I will let mine lapse for as long as it takes to get caught. If my minor pollution is enough concern to the eco-***** then they will drop dead when they see what is dropped in their local rivers. I did a test one time in the Brazos, near a Marina, you dont want to know the results. I have considered moving from Texas because they have gone to rolling dyno testing. Then again the ticket only costs 10.50 in court costs so for every year I let mine lapse I made 22 dollars :>)
