Default Wheel spacer experts? ... nice pics

I guess I might have just found the cause for at least a part of the problems I've been having with the right front wheel...

Check these pics of the spacer that just came out.

Other side..

What do you think? I'm definately replacing it, but what might cause this, and what would it do to how the wheel acts/feels..?

At least there was a ****load of vibration

Just took a short test drive with that thing out (looks quite weird now as the wheel sits quite deep in the wheel arch...) and can't really say how much of a difference removing it made.. but at least I'll have some peace of mind now ...

Actually I later on figured out how it got like that; a very stupid mistake on my part regarding where to put the bearing dust cap... now I know for sure that it doesn't fit under the spacer - DOH!!
