A 924 GTR/GTS Optik would be an awesome thing. I have had that idea stuck in my head for a while now, but if you've never seen one in person, it would be tough to get it close (like the engine bay and Matter rollcage, for example). I second Abdul's advice. Furthermore, after documenting the crossmembers for an early 924 and the 944/951 cars, I have found that they are not similar. It appears that the front rails sit higher on the 924 (early) and some welding or fabrication would have to be done. Nothing is impossible if you've got the dream, will and cash to spend. There is an old thread at http://www.924board.org about sticking a 951 eninge in an early car, most say it can't be done without major work. I am driven to figure it out somehow, at some point. Obviously a quickie cheat would be to just use a late 924; we all know why. Here's some data for the 944. Haven't got the same thing up for the 924.. although I've acquired the factory manuals, I don't have the disc availble presently.

Sharky,

Suggest you contact Jeff and Andy at www.944racing.com . Jeff (the owner) races 944's and his son Andy races RX7's.

Didn't the 90s RX-7s have awful reliability issues? I seem to remember rotary + turbo being a very delicate combination.
