-----------------5th margarita now.................thank god this has spell check!!

Scirocco!!! Just Euro lights. The factory lights on those are horrible. I can drive anywhere with the brights on and nobody flashes me (headlights, not women, not that the woman part happens either) I plan on adding euro bumpers. Living in Wisconsin, finding any pre 92 VW with no rust is amazing. This car was in Wisconsin less than 5 months from Texas when I bought it. 100% original & perfect. I plan to keep it that way. I really didn't need another car (not all are even listed) but I couldn't pass it up. What else you gonna buy for $2,000?

Anyway, if you do wihte calipers, I have to see them. Post a pic of your car now so we can have fun with photoshop and different caliper colors.

Hey buddy I'll help ya if need be.. I've already got the High temp glossy red caliper paint in my shop downstairs...

If ya wanna do it properly ya gotta take off the calipers, but that means bleeding the brakes! ack! Gotta do it sooner or later, no?

I'm waiting for big reds, personally. I know I don't need em, they'll be just for looks. Oh wait, I'm still broke... gotta save first...

Mine were red when I bought the car. I'll have a look tonight and see if I have pics. I actually changed mine though to Yellow. I like it!

I've just painted the rocker cover in Guards Red, and picked out the Porsche lettering in black (after replacing the rocker cover gasket)

There is nothing that's much more rice than painting your calipers. Just look around at the civics. If your calipers came black, leave them black, if you get big reds, then leave them red. Painting stock small calipers a different color is definitely rice.

I had to laugh at a Ford Focus the other day. 18 inch wheels, and he'd painted his front calipers and rear drum brakes red!

As for Porsches having small calipers - dream on! The standard 944 calipers are roughly the same size as the M030 calipers, which were red! Can you spot the difference at 30 yards?

Nothing wrong painting your calipers any color which makes you happy. It's just that some colors match your car better than others. For my red car I'd paint it silver or a fresh coat of black with polished letters. Red is fine if it comes this way from the factory.

This is my car with red calipers. I think that the red on red looks sharp.

I went "aluminum" with mine. I took them apart-taped them off, and shot them with 1500 degree spray paint in dull aluminum. I'll need to get a picture with the wheels on, it looks understated-and clean.

I really wanted to go with the CAD color on the Brembo's. That golden color is just awesome-I couldn't figure out how to do it...

Just remember the brake dust thing. Brake dust is black and will coat everything in side the wheels. Black caliper show less dust. With red or any other cooler the dust will be more visible and require more frequent cleaning.

I actualy like the "aluminium" look. Subtle & nice. It actually looks like very clean bare metal rather than "paint"

I clean mine too much to get brake dust build up-but I can see where that would be an issue.

Doyle-opinions are personal, and appreciated. Try using terms like "I think", "I feel", and "in my opinion"-that way you don't sound so abrasive. If my calipers are rice-so be it. IN MY OPINION they make the car look cleaner, and well taken care of.

I have the Red/Red combo... it looks great. It's not a drastic change at all.

I'll find some close ups when I get home.
