Gear shift lever separated from gear shift rod
#16
Well hope you boys are right, just dropped some coin on the full only944 setup from interior shifter to the short shifter and linkage, threw in a new leather shift boot and the TB cam from another supplier to the ebay shopping cart when leaving too. See how much more fun I can make this car for a few $100.

I bought the shift lever replacement from only944, works great, feels great, easy install and has an actual nut on the end so it won't "pop off" like the C-clamp. The adjustment has to be perfect though because the bolt head and nut are thick and can easily bang against the rather small circular opening when going to 1st/2nd, 5th/Rev.
I just bought the only944 inner boot rather than dealing with the rubber boot. Fits pretty good but a little of the leather tore when I was puling it up over the bulky clip that holds the top handle to the lever itself.
Going to do the only944 short shift kit this weekend but now am curious about this "linkage arm" I've been hearing about:
a) what function does it perform?
b) how is the only944 version superior?
c) what is the level of difficulty of installation?
Thx
