Moriss Dampers, where are you?
Anyone know what's up at Moriss Dampers? I'm finally ready to pick up a suspension kit, and I can't seem to get a hold of them. It's been less than a day, since I called/e-mailed them, but I'm ready to spend some dough.

Mike,
Haven't had any luck reaching Evan.
I tried e-mail, cell phone, and anything that I could think of.
I'm getting a quote for a set of Ledas, and I'll probably go with them.
Thanks for the info on your setup, with the exception of the coil-over setup, I'll be copying it to the letter.

I would not be in a hurry to throw any money at Morris Dampers. I spoke with Larry (former MD employee) yesterday at a Detroit area autocross. He indicated that Evan may not be in the damper business any more.
I know Evan personally. He is a nice enough guy - but based on what I have seen and heard from many customers - he may not be that great an engineer nor a businessman.
Buyer beware!

Scott,
Thanks for the heads up. I just spoke with Chris White about a set of Ledas, and things look to be heading in that direction.
I'm a bit disappointed, as the Bilstein setup sounded killer, but I think that the support with the Ledas will more than make up for it.

George,
No offense, but the extra $2g's for the Koni setup will find a good home elsewhere. I guess I should have been clearer on my plans. My initial setup involved the non-adjustable dampers w/ springs from Moriss for $1600. The Ledas should put me at ~$1800 with the springs (I'm hoping).
I've got no doubt that the Koni's are absolutely smoking, but bang-for-the-buck, I think the Leda's and the Moriss setup offer(ed) more. Plus, honestly, I don't have the skills to use the Koni's at anywhere near their potential. I can at least lie to myself about the Leda's.

I'm about to start offering Koni double adjustable struts for the Sentra SE-R for about $400 per corner with the 944 to follow (when I design them for my 944) along with double adjustable rears. Mine will be down the road a bit though. I have no doubts about the fronts, but the rears will need some fitting. That said, if I weren't already working on them for the SE-R, I'd just buy a set from Jason.

Just to clarify, there are three levels of Koni application for the street/track/race 944/968. They are standard Koni Sport (sgl adjust 8641/8040), Koni 8742 front and 3012 rear (coil-overs, dbl adjust) and the 28 series (dbl adjust, custom built, all aluminum, front and rear inverted, no can, 2812/2817). Each has a target price and customer type.
Good Luck!

To all: Be very careful with Moriss Dampers. I tried ordering a set of shocks last November (that would be 2002). My credit card was billed for the full amount in the beginning of December (again, in 2002). It's now approaching the end of August (39 weeks later) and I'm fighting to get my money back. Fortunately, my credit card company has been very understanding and helpful.
However, last night, I got a letter from the United States Bankruptcy Court. Moriss Dampers filed for chapter 7 Bankruptcy on 8/19/03 (a week ago). Anyone who has open orders, or anyone who's paid money but not received anything yet might be in real trouble -- you might not be getting anything.
If this is the case, I recommend you contact the Bankruptcy Trustee, Charles Taunt, 700 East Maple Road, 2nd Floor, Birmingham, MI 48009, (248) 647-1127. The bankruptcy case number is 03-62818-mbm.
I may be one of the lucky ones, because my credit card company has refunded my charge, but I don't know if they got their money back from Moriss. I don't want to see anyone else have the same problem or heartache that I had.
Please be careful dealing with this company, and make sure you understand your rights if you've paid Moriss any money and not received your products.
If anyone needs more info regarding the bankruptcy notice, let me know.

Skip, can you tell something more about the Koni 8742 front shock? It just says "8742-1007 Sport can be adapted to any 944 series car that came equipped with sealed struts" on the website and there's no price to be seen...
