Default Torque Tube Bearing Carrier Orientation?

Does it matter which side of the torque tube bearing carrier faces the front of the tube? I know the sleeve insert things have to face the front of the tube, but is there a front/back for the carriers? Mine are the kind that are just pressed in and I don't want a repeat of last time where the shaft went in crooked and pushed the bearing out of the carrier.

What I'd like to do is insert the carriers so the "open" side is facing the front of the tube. That way if the shaft goes in crooked again the bearing will not be pushed out of the carrier and will prevent me from buying some gasoline and matches.
