Oil leak... aos seals?

Well we've hit our first road block. I took her out today for a short ride and bath and when I came home and lifted the hood I found the 2 valleys next to the oil fill filled with oil (see picture below). It seems to be the AOS seals but Im not sure. I haven't looked in the J boot yet. What says the forum?

This picture was taken after I soaked up the oil from the valleys but you can clearly see it.
This is under the intake just above the previous picture.

Well even though it's midnight here I couldn't help myself, pulled the J-boot and there's oil in it. I also checked the balance shaft cap and it's super loose and has oil around it. So for that I'll use the grey hondabond but for the AOS I guess I need to order the O-Rings.
Couple questions...
Is my analysis correct about the oil in the J-boot?
Will it hurt it to drive it this way until I get the o-rings in? It's my DD.
Autozone sells many oil resistant o-ring kits, will those work?
If not can someone link me to the Pelican set for my 87 NA?
Would this contribute to my hesitation during acceleration I've been getting?
Thanks everyone.

Nice pictures.
Oil cap seal:

Oil Separator --AOS seals. Get OEM. 2 different sizes, Top and bottom
Get oil fill tube seal as well.
http://www.pelicanparts.com/cgi-bin/...ator&x=49&y=14
Note. Intake has to be removed. Get all intake seals, injector seals, hoses under intake if rotted, new clamps, new vac hoses, ++++
Then rebuild the throttle body with a $20 kit.
Double check all parts listed to match your car.
A good start.

When I had leaks like that, it was a combo of the AOS seals, a warped oil filler cap (new gasket didn't help, needed a new cap) and the dipstick tube gaskets. I had to pull the entire turbo to get to mine, so you're pretty lucky ![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
If the oil isn't spewing out and hitting anything exhaust related, I'd say it'd be fine to drive like that for a little while.

Do you think that oil in the J-boot would cause it to hesitate occasionally during acceleration? Seems to me like that would throw off the fuel/air ratio but I could be wrong.

I get oil everywhere, j-boot, intake, intercooler, but my car runs like a champ. So unless it's really fouling your plugs, I wouldn't think so. I think that's just a 944 thing, though a lot of people run catch-cans.
Maybe you just need a tune up or a new o2 sensor or something.

I just did a full tuneup so I'm good there. I didn't touch the o2 sensor but the PO ran 3 inch all the way back from the headers so I can see he took the time to add in the o2. I'm assuming it's good because it looks new but I don't like assuming.
I did change the plugs and noticed 1 of the plugs was in really bad shape. She runs a lot better since then but still the occasional stutter.

Q.) What car/engine do you have?
The plastic "male" part of the AOS has mold flashing that on the factory seals left small cuts on the inside diameter of my seal which I suspect contributed to oil weeping. I used a razor knife to shave this flashing down to a smooth round bore. New seals, no more leaks.
I believe the dipstick "seal" is just a common o-ring that should be easy to find but I don't recall exactly.
Good luck and have fun.
