Then why are you threatening people? No one in this thread said anything disrespectful to you. Lart is short for his full username. Now take a second and go back over the replies. An apology on your behalf is in order. EVERYONE was trying to help you.

I was going over a your previous post to see if this is your normal behavior. You still want to get rid of that tig welder?

Some people are just wayyyyyy too defensive/offensive...

You seem to have an expectation that every time you post, someone is going to "hose" you. Not the case dude...

It's important to establish a relationship with people before you make them the butt of a joke. It's also good to have a thick skin when meeting people for the first time. I'll work on thickening my skin.

Lart. I guess I should have just laughed.

Apology accepted and you have mine as well. This is a medium that lends itself to misunderstandings and abhors brevity between strangers. It's in its nature.

I come from a background in computer systems. LART is, as I mentioned earlier, an extremely offensive term, tantamount to calling someone a drooling idiot. It's not one to be used casually. I made the mistake of assuming you knew that, apparently I was wrong.

You have my sincere apologies.

Will, it comes from a very long experience. Very long. In fact, most of the time you'd be wrong about the too offensive/defensive posture.

Shall I tell you a story? One that begins in 1982?

Back then there was no internet but we did have eMail. When it was just eMail between people in the same organization it was pretty civil. Later we started connecting organizations together. We had interest groups and user's groups and eventually we had newsgroups. Then things got weird.

Twenty years went by in a blink and we had the internet. People became pretty ornery. It got worse. Never has gotten better.

Today I had someone offer to take large amounts of money from me. I decided to check his references using exactly the same medium he was using and I came upon what appeared to be a hostile response. I was mistaken.

But I must tell you in all honesty it was not unprovoked (by the species). We humans have a way to go yet. I appreciate your position too, it's one I would eventually like to take. Today was not that day.

I sent a PM but I might as well explain this in pblic since I've created such a stir.

I'm looking for a 3.0L shortblock but would actually prefer a long block if the price difference wasn't exorbitant. I'm attempting to build a 3.0L 944 Turbo. Basically a 944 Turbo S2. I have 2.7L head I intend to use for the build but I'm lacking sodium filled valves for that head.

Please PM me and we might continue in the absence of my false offense.

Regards,
Scott.

Having read thru many of your near 500 posts, I've found them often very courteous and appreciating...
As such, I hope you'll agree that your sodomic reference above is clearly beyond unacceptable.
This forum is filled with respectful ladies & gentlemen.
As one, I ask that you immediately use the edit button to clear out your extremely offensive insult.

Above and beyond everyone's rightful umbrage, my young son is trying to learn about his beloved brand of sportscars and often reads this forum...
Up until today, it's been a haven of peaceable debate and helpful advice.

I REALLY don't want to contact Lart so he can assist you in acquiring a block?

I told you that the CT guy is not trustworthy and I contacted Lart so he could respond to this thread and help you with your needs.

You're welcome.

I didn't say I was a good Buddhist.

I'm not threatening anyone. I'm trying to find a 3.0L short block. I had a very bad experience with someone. I'm checking references.

Unfortunately, by pure coincidence, the person I need to talk to is named Lart. I'm now talking to Lart and I'm almost certain it will be a good conversation. It's no fault of his that he has a user name that happens to be an acronym I recognized as offensive. Not at all. My mistake.

Someone said I might have Mommy/Daddy issues. They could be right; I've had my butt kicked around the block a few times. It helps to write clearly.

amidst the BS, from what I have seen, 944 blocks are pretty inexpensive. I see long blocks on CL all the time for $400 easy.... Sorry if this was expressed, didnt bother wading through the animosity.

Thanks. Animosity was a pure mistake, Lart is in the Urban Dictionary.

I suffer from a past life. Once I was a sysadmin. I KNOW LART (the acronym, not the person) I don't know Kevin but I'm getting better at it.
