I had an early '85 944 na w/ the sport suspension option( totaled by some idiot), can I add that to a car that I buy, pre '87? and can I do it myself?

do you mean you want to take parts off of your totalled car and put them on a new one?if so then yea the shocks are easy to take out. I think the early ones had rebuildable ones too which makes it easier. Just undo the 2 bolts at the bottom(where the wheel is) and then undo the 4 at the top(inside the engine compartment and take the whole thing out, it'll prolly be easier to just put the whole thing in the new one than start taking them apart and changing the cartridges.
keep in mind, if you dont want to do an allignment after(which you should do) mark where the 2 bottom bolts were on the new car and put them in the same way.
