Hi Phil, FWIW, a close family friend who lives in Pacific Palisades, CA swears there's one in his neighborhood. Where there's a will, there's a way

ouais thom... i am in santa clara right now (pour le boulot - on est sud de san francisco, juste un peu) and we are 27 degrees.... which is nothing compared to your 36 degrees! Time for a trip to Normandie, non?

I wanted to ask a 951 question, now that we've thoroughly jacked Luis' thread into oblivion!!! - What are the differences between MY88/89 (Turbo S) and MY90, 91 951 engines - are they the same or were they regular engines, circa 1987? Allez, dit moi...

I believe the only difference are the wheels, they ran out of the good ones

I'm afraid it's the same heat all over the country !
I didn't take the opportunity to go to Denmark this year, I quite regret it ...

The engine is the same, although I have noticed some varaitions on some details : for example on MY90&91 cars the fuel regulator is "screwed", which is not the case on 220hp and S/MY89 cars.

MY90&91 turbos have a larger front track width, and wider front rims.
Front CS rims are 7" wide whereas specific MY90&91 turbo front D90 rims are 7.5" wide, as Luis pointed out. Rear D90 are indeed both 9" wide.

MY90&91 turbos have the "hard" rear wing, seen later on all the 968 coupés (except the TS of course).

MY90&91 cars have larger torsion bars, and smaller rear sway bar (16 mm).

The most important detail (IMHO) a LOT of American readers are not aware of : The M030 was stock on S/89 cars, but only an option on MY90&91 cars.
MY90&91 have the terrible Fichtel & Sachs shock absorbers.

Here is MY91 car a friend of mine is selling - I love that colour ...
If you look very close you will notice the difference in width between these D90s and that of the S2. (Luis will confirm)

Here is another car (MY90) in similar color.
(note : the turbo sticker was added and the clear side repeaters are VW Golf 3)
