cleaning the floor is taking forever, on the plus side we have a couch right by the lifts and after about an hour in the car the adhesive remover gives me a nice little high so i can go sit down and zone out

There isn't very much true undercoating inside the car. I think what you might be referring to removing is the sound deadening material. It consists of what seems to be fibrous asphalt panels (approx 3/32" thick) that are bonded to the inside of the tub. I used a propane torch to gently heat these things and they lifted right out with a putty knife / scraper. I removed all of this stuff in approximately 1.5 hours using this method. Works much better than frying brain cells with that nasty adhesive remover stuff . . .
Regarding the actual undercoating (that covers the entire underside of the tub and also a little inside the tub), I used a 13,000 rpm angle grinder with a very stiff wire brush cup attachment on it. Takes the stuff off very quickly but leaves a HUGE mess. Make sure to wear a very good filtration mask over your nose and mouth when doing any form of grinding or sanding that creates dust in the air.

yea the sound deadening is what im doing right now, if nothing else just for a cleaner surface to paint over.... like i said earlier i think if i started trying to remove the undercoating it would be messy and i would start making enemies at the shop
